The singer’s ad will no longer be shown in the country after its governing advertising regulator called the photo “irresponsible and likely to cause serious offense.”
In the controversial advertisement, the 36-year-old artist can be seen with nothing but a shirt covering the private parts of her bare body.
In the sultry shot, FKA covered her chest and showed off the side of her booty.
The controversial image also had “Calvins or nothing” written over it.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) reportedly received complaints from two people who deemed the ad inappropriate.
According to the Guardian, the UK’s regulatory organization said in a statement that the photo needed to be removed since it “used nudity and centered on FKA twigs’ physical features rather than the clothing, to the extent that it presented her as a stereotypical sexual object,”
They reportedly added that the “image’s composition placed viewers’ focus on the model’s body rather than on the clothing being advertised.”
While the singer’s ad first came out in April 2023, it surprisingly caught critics’ attention just recently.
The ASA also reportedly said that the image “must not appear again in the form complained of.”
Internet users complained about the ad, with one writing,
”Calvin Klein has been doing the same tricks for decades, always with the provocative beefcake and cheesecake. We’ve got bigger fish to fry.”
Another wrote,
”Not the most attractive model…”

Calvin Klein defends Twigs’ controversial ad
The Guardian also said that some people also complained about Kendall Jenner’s topless Calvin Klein ad. However, the regulators said that the Kardashians star was not done “in a manner that portrayed her as a sexual object.”
The Cellophane singer has not yet addressed the criticism.
It seems that Twigs won’t agree with the ASA as she regularly posts risqué photos of herself.
In November 2023, the Two Weeks singer shared a video of herself on Instagram from a Viktor&Rolf fragrances photoshoot where she posed with a perfume with only a sheer cloth vaguely covering her body.
Calvin Klein defended its ad featuring Twigs, saying,
“The images were not vulgar and were of two confident and empowered women who had chosen to identify with the Calvin Klein brand, and the ads contained a progressive and enlightened message,”
The latest criticism came after a viral ad featuring The Bear star Jeremy Allen White came out. In the photos, the actor, 32, shows off his muscular physique, wearing only skin-tight underwear.
