In 2015, Francis signed with the UFC, the biggest promotion in MMA. He debuted against Luis Henrique at UFC Fight Night 92, winning by knockout in under two minutes.

From there, Francis went on a five-fight win streak, including four first-round knockouts. His powerful striking and athleticism quickly made him a fan favorite.

In 2018, Francis earned a title shot against Stipe Miocic, the reigning UFC heavyweight champion.

Despite being a heavy underdog, Francis was expected to pose a significant threat to Miocic, given his knockout power. However, Miocic neutralized Francis’s striking and won a dominant decision victory.

After his loss to Miocic, Francis struggled to win fights consistently. He lost two more fights in a row before taking a break from the competition to reevaluate his training and mindset.

During this time, Francis traveled to Cameroon to reconnect with his roots and reflect on his journey.

In 2019, Francis Ngannou returned to the UFC and faced off against Junior dos Santos. He won by knockout in the first round, re-establishing himself as a top contender in the heavyweight division.

He followed this up with another first-round knockout over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in 2020.

Currently,  Francis is widely considered one of the most dangerous strikers in MMA. His explosive power and athleticism make him a threat to any opponent in the octagon.
