Gerard Pique is finally opening up about all the cheating allegations and said he is fed up with them.
The soccer player gave an interview where he discussed the criticisms he faced after splitting from the singer.
Pique allegedly cheated on the Colombian singer with a much younger model.

Gerard Pique is trying to block out the critics who dissed him for allegedly cheating on Shakira with a much younger model.

The former footballer sat down for an interview with Gerard Romero over the weekend. The two discussed how Pique has been handling all the backlash since his split from the Hips Don’t Lie singer in June 2022.

Pique spoke in his native Spanish,

“In the beginning, it was bad and it reached a point where if I had let things get to me, I would have thrown myself off a cliff,”

The athlete also revealed that it was his nonchalant attitude that saved his mental health.

The father of two also addressed how people forget that the issues that create can affect a person’s life. In his opinion, such issues arise when people “tend to care about things that aren’t that important.”

He also believes the only things worth worrying about are “serious health issues, family, and relationships.”

However, fans started having their opinions when he and Shakira called it quits after 11 years of relationship.

He also felt severe criticism when he quickly moved on with model Clara Chia Marti making fans believe that they were having an affair.

Pique also told the interviewer during the interview,

“For example, my ex is Latin American … you can’t imagine [the comments] I’ve gotten on social media from her fans. Millions of barbarities!”
“But I don’t care about any of it. Honestly, not at all because I don’t know them. These people have no lives and why should I care? I’ll never meet them, they’re robots, you know?”

Shakira and fans dissed Pique after the interview

The soccer star also added that he managed to keep alive and that his nonchalance “is healthy because if you care about people’s opinions, you’re dead.”

He added,

“They want you to worry and when you do, they would have won. You have to show them that you don’t care because it gets them angrier,”

However fans were not impressed by his interview and thought he was playing a victim card.

One fan tweeted in response to the interview,

“Why the f–k did you have to mention that your ex is Latina? Do you think that Latinos insult or harass more than people from other countries? Why did you say that? Plus Shakira has fans all over the world. You really are digging your own grave.”

Shortly after that, the Wherever Whenever singer tweeted that she was a proud Latin American along with dozens of Latin American flag emojis.

Pique also previously reported that he was not sorry for leaving the Grammy winner who was devastated by their separation.
