For the play, she received the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, Helen Merrill Award, and Guggenheim Fellowship. After the play, she established herself as a playwright in the theatre world.

In 2004, she wrote the play, After Ashley which highlighted crimes like rape and murder. In 2005, she received Obie Award for the play.

After that, she wrote Becky Shaw that was premiered at the Humana Festival and opened Off-Broadway in 2008.

For the play, she received nominations for Lucille Lortel Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, and Drama Desk Award. Also, she became a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama too.

Producer & TV Writer

After a successful career as a playwright, she expanded her career as a TV writer. With the series, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, she debuted on TV as a writer.

As a writer, she has contributed the storylines for various series including House of Cards, The Alienist, and FBI: Most Wanted.
