Gisele Bundchen is having a tough time dealing with the loss of her mom, Vania Nonnenmacher.
Vania took her last breath on Sunday, January 28, at the Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre, Brazil after being admitted on Friday, January 26.
She died after battling with an undisclosed form of cancer. She was just 75.
Her death was confirmed by the hospital with a heartbreaking statement that reads,
“Hospital Moinhos de Vento announces the death of Vania Maria Nonnenmacher Bündchen this Sunday (28) due to cancer. At the age of 75, she was admitted to Hospital Moinhos de Vento on January 26,”

Vania is survived by her husband Valdir and six daughters Eafaela, Graziela, Gabriela, Raquel, Gisele and her fraternal twin sister, Patricia.
However, daughters hasn’t yet commented on their mother’s death.
According to GZH reports, Vania’s funeral ceremony is set for Monday, January 29, st the Ecumenical Chapel of the Metropolitan Crematorium in Porto Alegre.
Gisele Bundchen earlier disscussed about her mother’s heath
Earlier this month, Gisele made an apperance to Harper’s Bazzar to promote her upcoming cookboook, “Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul.”
During the interview, she emphasized the importance of health, stating,
“You can have all the money in the world, If you don’t have your health, it’s not possible to buy it back.”
Similarly, she revealed that her mother’s ongoing health issues inspired her to change her diet. She said,
“I want to live the longest feeling the best that I can, but for me to achieve this, I have to make decisions today, I want to live the longest feeling the best that I can, but for me to achieve this, I have to make decisions today.”

In September 2023 interview with PEOPLE, the supermodel, 43, opened up about caring of her ailing parents.
“It’s been very tough on mu family. It’s been a lot — in every area of my life, I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings”
How was Gisele Bundchen’s bond with her mother?
Gisele was incredibly close to her mother. Over the years, she often posted her moments with her mother on social media, sharing images and videos of her.
In a 2010 blog entry, she honored her mother on International Women’s Day, shortly after welcoming her first child Benjamin, 14. She wrote at the time,
“I grew up witnessing my mother always trying her best at doing all she could for the six of us girls. My mom devoted her entire life to her family and did it with such grace,”
“She is my hero. She is the reason why I believe a woman is the core of a family … I can only hope to be for my kids what she will and always be for us … Our rock.”
