Starting a career
Charlie Stayt’s TV career started with ITN in 1995. He later joined Five News as a reporter and later became a principal anchor. He anchored Five News’ coverage of the events of 11 September 2001.
Spent a total of ten years at ITN, both as a correspondent and a presenter. He has also been a presenter for Sky News and hosted live ‘reality TV shows Jailbreak’ and ‘Are You Telepathic’. He presented numerous current affairs programs.

Charlie Stayt joined BBC Breakfast as a relief presenter initially in 2006. But in December 2007, he served as its ‘Friday-Sunday’ presenter. Since January 2008, he has been the weekend presenter for BBC Breakfast.
He moved with the program to Salford and presents the program Thursday-Saturday with Naga Munchetty, as well as standing in for former main weekday host Bill Turnbull.

Charlie joined BBC Breakfast in 2006 as a relief presenter initially. By December of the next year 2007, he was the presenter on Fridays and Sundays. He was appointed as a weekend presenter in January 2008 for BBC Breakfast.
The studio of the show moved to Salford along with Bill Turnbull, Susanna Reid, Charlie Stayt, and Louise Minchin on December 12 of 2011.
Embarrassing Moment
Charlie Stayt was punched as he misspelled ‘education’ while reporting live on BBC Breakfast on April 24, 2016. Charlie missed the alphabet ‘c’ while writing ‘education’ in the classroom in Southampton.
Following the event, Bill Turnbull funnily credited Charlie for starting a Twitter trend. He even made Charlie spell that word.
