Ireland Baldwin talks about her heart-wrenching story of rape that led to abortion

In the wake of the Roe vs Wade overturn, many female celebrities have come together to share their experience with abortion and why every woman should have access to it.

Ireland Baldwin could not stop herself from telling her side of the story that she had been keeping inside her for many years.

The 26-year-old model took to TikTok to share her painful experiences from the past.

The daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger revealed that she had her first abortion as a teen after she was raped, and the other one took place during her previous relationship.

Supporting women’s rights to safe abortion, Baldwin said:

”I don’t feel that it is anyone’s responsibility to talk about this if they don’t feel comfortable,”

Why did Baldwin choose abortion?

Baldwin explained that she did not inform anyone about her first abortion when she was barely a teenager.

She later added that she terminated her second child while in a relationship with her former partner.

Ireland explained:

“We were very unhappy together. And he made it pretty clear that he never wanted kids or marriage — he barely wanted to be in a serious relationship.”
“I chose to get an abortion because I know exactly what it felt like to be born between two people who hated each other,”

Ireland knew how it felt to be in a family without love and respect. Her parents, Alec and Kim who married in 1993 got divorced in 2002. Ireland was only 7 years old at the time.

Explaining why she chose to abort her child during the relationship, she said:

“Could I have had that baby and put that baby up for adoption?”
“Maybe. Maybe not.”

She continued:

“But choosing to raise a baby without my own financial security, without a loving and supportive partner, that wasn’t going to work for me,”. I chose me and I would choose me again.”
“It’s your life. It’s your choice.”
