While speaking to Out magazine, he also said that he has no problem in saying he is a black gay man. Moreover, he stated:

‘” m a gay man with an extremely open heart. If I had to label myself, I would label myself as a gay man.”

Furthermore, he also stated that his love is only the thing that matters.

“With that said, I believe that love is the only thing that matters, and I would hope that anybody would leave themselves open – not to gender, but to love.”

Besides that during the talk, Jussie also mentioned that he can fall for a woman if he loves her.
