Jamie Foxx experienced a medical complication and is currently recovering, according to his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who posted a statement on Instagram on behalf of their family on April 12.

The actor’s representative confirmed that he was rushed to a hospital in Atlanta on April 11 due to a serious medical emergency.

The statement read:

“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday, (April 11). “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

It concluded:

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

His family members, including those who were out of town, rushed to be with him at the hospital. However, the representative said that he is now conscious and communicating with people.

Jamie has two daughters, Corinne Foxx and Annalise Bishop, with Connie Kline and Kristin Grannis, respectively.

The father-daughter duo often collaborate on various projects, such as the TV show “Beat Shazam” and an Intel commercial released last month.

Foxx was seen in Atlanta just two days prior to the health scare

According to TMZ, Foxx was seen in Atlanta two days ago, on April 10, while shooting for his new Netflix movie called Back in Action.

The film also features Cameron Diaz, who is making a comeback on the big screen after her last movie Annie in 2014. She co-starred with Foxx in that movie. The actor revealed last year that he had convinced the actress to return to acting for this project.

He told E! News in August:

“We just begged and pleased on my knees, like, ‘Just give the people one more again. We love her, we’ve been waiting on her and this is just gonna be fantastic.”

In June, it was Foxx who broke the news that Cameron was coming back out of his retirement by sharing a phone recording between himself, the actress, and NFL GOAT Tom Brady.

He tweeted on June 29:

“Cameron I hope you aren’t mad I recorded this, but no turning back now. Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT. @CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION—our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production starting later this year!!”

Brady told Cameron on the phone,

“I was talking to Jamie and he said you need a few tips on how to un-retire. I’m relatively successful at un-retiring.”

She replied,

“Honestly, [You’re] exactly what I needed.”
