Jennifer Aniston is struggling after Matthew Perry’s death

Jennifer Aniston is finding it really tough to deal with her close friend Matthew Perry‘s untimely death.

A source told Page Six that the actress’s friends are worried about her amid Perry’s tragic death.

Aniston and other four members of the cast of Friends attended his funeral this Friday.

The source said,

“Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courteney [Cox] are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely,”
“It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet.”

Jennifer’s dad, John Aniston, passed away in November 2022. In his remembrance, Aniston called him “one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew.”

She said,

“She is trying to regroup and recover but it’s been a completely devastating blow,”

On Friday, Jennifer, 54, and the remaining cast members Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc, at Perry’s funeral at Forest Lawn cemetery in LA. The cemetery is just minutes away from the Warner Bros. studios where the group filmed the NBC hit sitcom for a decade.

In 2004, Jennifer broke down in tears during an interview at the thought of losing Perry.

During the memorial, Aniston walked behind the other cast members accompanied by a security guard.

Though attending the intimate service, the cast didn’t join the family and close friends for his burial.

Matthew Perry had a crush on Jennifer Aniston

Perry lost his life after drowning in a jacuzzi at his Pacific Palisades home at the end of last month. He was always very vocal about his past addiction and how it nearly took his life. Perry also praised Aniston for checking in on him.

In an interview with Diane Sawyer in October 2022, Perry said of Aniston,

“She was the one that reached out the most. You know, I’m really grateful to her for that,”

The actor also admitted that it was Aniston who first confronted him on the Friends set when his addiction became clear to his castmates.

Perry revealed he had a crush on Jennifer after initially meeting her through some common friends three years before the sitcom started. In his memoir, he revealed that she gently turned him down when he asked her out.

He wrote,

“She declined (which made it very difficult to actually go out with her), but said that she’d love to be friends with me, and I compounded the compound by blurting, ‘We can’t be friends!’ “

Although he still had a crush on her, it started wearing off mainly because of Aniston’s “deafening lack of interest.”
