Jennifer Hudson is finally opening up about her new relationship and that she is very happy with Common amid months of romance rumors.

During her appearance on CBS Mornings with Gayle King on Monday, the actress said,

“I am very happy, yes ma’am,”

She added that her relationship status is more sophisticated than booed up.

The American Idol alum opened up about her relationship status just two days after she and Common held hands publicly as they attended a jazz performance at Joe’s Pub theater in New York City.

The lovebirds were in great spirits as they entered the venue.

Their dating rumors surfaced in February 2022, when the actress and the rapper were spotted together in Philadelphia and their hometown in Chicago.

Just three months later, it was confirmed that the two would be working together in the forthcoming movie, Breathe.

Despite enjoying several outings, including a romantic trip to London, both stars remained mum about their relationship.

On July 31, the Jennifer Hudson Show host confused fans with her reply when asked about her love life.

She told TMZ,

“Rumors say a lot of things,”
“But he’s a beautiful man, I will give you that.”

Common also kept his lips tight about his romance with the actress. In June, he said on the Today show,

“I’ve always been inspired by her,”
“She’s one of the most beautiful people I ever met on the planet. Incredible heart and she’s just dope, man.”

Hudson already shares a 14-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., with her ex-fiance, former WWE star David Otunga.

The exes called it quits in 2017 after 10 years together.

Common, for his part, dated a handful of A-list women like Serena Williams, and Taraji P. Henson. His last relationship was with Tiffany Haddish, whom he split from in November 2021.
