31-year-old Pak was born in a Korean family and raised in the US. Her parents after getting married moved to America. Information on her parents is unknown. She has a sister named Kayle Pak.

She attended Columbia College located in Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. Later she followed her passion and learned photography became the perfection in it.

Yeun and Pak started seeing each other since the year 2009. Pak was still in her college days when they started dating. They were very much in love with each other and soon the couple became inseparable.

But times changed, and because of work, Steven had to go to Los Angeles. So, they maintained a long-distance relationship and used to make out quality time to spend whenever they met.

Soon, in the year 2015, the couple felt that they should take their relationship to the next level and got engaged and decided to marry in 2016. After dating for seven years the couple decided to get married.

Then on 3 December 2016, Steven Yeun and Joana Pak tied the knot with each other at Paramour Estate in California. They had invited 220 guests to witness their wedding and the couple wore classic Korean Garb while taking vows.

Soon after the couple got married, Joana became pregnant and she shared the news via her social media handle, posting a picture of herself and her belly bump.

She gave birth to their baby boy on 17th March 2017. They named their baby Jude Malcolm Yeun.

After the birth of her child, she has taken a break from her career as well because she wants to spend all the time with her son.

After Joana graduated from Columbia College, she took graphic design classes and did editorial-based internships. To accomplish her dream, she even moved to Los Angeles.

She specialized in landscapes and prints she loved doing and is now the owner of Jo Pakka Photography which is a California-based freelance photography service.

But after her baby, Jude was born on 17th March 2017, she took a break from her career. However, she is connected to her fans and followers via her social media handle. She keeps sharing the pictures she has taken and focuses more on pictures of being a mother for the first time.
