There’s a new twist in Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner‘s divorce.

The estranged couple have agreed to settle their divorce in private after a lot of media and public interest.

On Wednesday, the singer filed to dismiss his petition for dissolution in Miami after he and the British actress attended mediation for four days. During the period, the exes came to a temporary agreement regarding child custody.

Page Six obtained the documents where the couple reached “various agreements” and planned to “pursue an amicable resolution of all issues.”

Earlier this week, the Jonas Brother singer and the Game of Thrones alum decided to split the custody of their two daughters, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1, with each of them for about two weeks at a time.

The custody will go through Jan. 7, 2024, meaning that the young girls will get the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with their daddy and Christmas with their mommy.

The estranged couple said in a statement,

“After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK,”
“We look forward to being great co-parents.”

The very next day, the DNCE singer shared a cryptic quote that seemingly hinted at the ongoing divorce proceedings.

The singer posted a snap on Instagram where he was seen glancing at an inspirational message written on a mirror that read, “I am at the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing.”

Why did Sophie and Joe end their marriage?

Joe, 34, filed for divorce from Sophie, 27, last month in Miami court after four years of marriage. Sophie, who remained quiet for some time, countersued the singer for the immediate return of their daughters to England where they planned to have a home for their family.

She also created her own divorce petition in the UK. Turner also accused Jonas of withholding their daughters’ passports.

Joe replied that he didn’t abduct their kids and insisted that he was “OK with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK.”

While it is unclear why Joe filed for divorce, sources claim that their marriage was irretrievably broken.

One internet user commented on the couple’s messy divorce, writing,
