Despite being separated for seven years, Jada revealed that she will remain married to Smith.

In a preview clip from her upcoming NBC News special with Hoda Kotb on Wednesday, the actress explained why she still chose to be legally married to her estranged husband.

“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce,”
“We will work through whatever. And I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”

The Red Table Talk co-host told People magazine on Wednesday that the pair are still trying to figure out what life has in cards for them.

The mother of two vowed, “I’m going to be by his side,”

The Nutty Professor actress and Will have always denied any marital problems in the past. They even showed unity during the infamous 2022 Oscars slap when Chris made a joke about Pinkett’s alopecia and during her affair with singer August Alsina.

In 2020, during a Red Table Talk episode, the couple who married in 1997, claimed that they were “going through a very difficult time” when Pinkett started spending more and more time with Alsina.

The Girls Trip actress told Kotb during the bombshell interview that the couple always tried to hide the nature of their marriage because they were not ready to fully open up about it.

She noted,

“[We were] still trying to figure out between the two of us how to be in partnership, right, and in regards to how do we present that to people, you know? And we hadn’t figured that out,”

Internet users slammed Jada Pinkett Smith for traumatizing Will

When asked what caused the long-term marriage to fall apart, Jada admitted that there were a lot of things to be blamed.

She recalled,

“I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying,”
“I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”

In the same interview, Jada, 52, confirmed that she and the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum, 55, have been living separately for some time now.

Pinkett’s shocking interviews came ahead of the release of her new memoir, Worthy.

Internet users were not happy with Jada’s statement. One wrote,
