She was a health policy reporter for the National Journal’s CongressDaily, writing about the passage of the Affordable Care Act from July 2008 till February 2010.

After that, she worked for Politico in January 2010, covering the race for GOP nomination in IOWA and New Hampshire as well as the 2010 midterm elections then left in August 2011.

In August 2011, she started working as a national political reporter for the Associated Press until January 2013. She also covered Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign.

In January 2013, Kasie Hunt joined NBC News as an off-air reporter for NBC News till July 2014. After that, she started appearing regularly on MSNBC shows.

In July 2014, she became a political correspondent for MSNBC till December 2016.
