  • Katherine is not a beneficiary of her son’s main estate but of a separate trust.

Katherine Jackson responds to Biji’s legal objection

Katherine Jackson is fighting legally to get the rights to funds in her late son Michael Jackson‘s estate.

After Michael’s youngest son, Bigi filed court documents to block his grandma from using his late father’s estate to pay her legal fees related to an ongoing legal battle with an undisclosed company,  believed to be against the estate’s recent estimated $600 million catalog with Sony, Katharine has formally filed a response.

The 93-year-old submitted a response on March 20 saying that her son’s estate executors have enough cash to support her $500,00 worth of legal fees, and therefore should.

Her complaint reads,

“… it seems clear to [Katherine] that the Executors are holding all of the assets in the Estate in order to keep control over them, and to avoid the more liberal distribution requirements of the Trust,”

It also claims that “the Executors cannot in good faith contend that the Estate does not have sufficient available funds to allow the Trust to make the requested payment” and that “hundreds of millions of dollars” would still be available to the estate’s beneficiaries if her costs were covered.

Mrs. Jackson is not a beneficiary of her son’s main estate but of a separate trust.

Bigi, also known as Blanket was born Prince Michael Jackson II and previously supported his grandmom against the $600 million Sony transaction. However, he backed out of the legal fight once a judge ruled the deal could move forward.

Michael’s estate claimed in their filing that the late King of Pop’s mother has received more than $55 million since he died in 2009. The executors said that $33 million of that came from a $160,000 per month allowance.

They also argued that the matriarch could fight the legal battle with her own money.

Is Bigi trying to protect Katherine from other family members?

However, a source revealed that the 22-year-old is not denying his granny of anything but is trying to wean his extended family off his dad’s legacy.

The  longtime family associate said,

“Bigi isn’t going against his grandmother. Bigi is really trying to protect his grandmother in the same manner that Michael did, which is to protect her from the Jacksons!”

“It’s the same s–t,”

The insider also claimed that some relatives get money from the trust via Katherine.

They said,

“Now, instead of letting Mrs. Jackson live out her years in relative peace, you still have certain family members using this elderly woman to get more money — and it’s none of their business, as usual.”

“Through Katie, the estate has made everyone wealthy beyond their wildest dreams,”

Almost 15 years since his death, the Thriller hitmaker’s fortune has seen an immense transformation. The dedication and stewardship of lawyers John Branca and John McClain, who are also the executors of his estate have brought it from an estimated half-billion dollars debt to a multi-billion-dollar empire.
