Kimberly Guilfoyle contracts coronavirus

Top Donald Trump campaign aide, Kimberly Guilfoyle has tested positive for coronavirus. She is the girlfriend of Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

The diagnosis was made before she was to attend Donald Trump’s Mount Rushmore meet. Donald Jr. has tested negative.

Kimberly, who is a former Fox Channel Correspondent had visited South Dakota in order to attend Trump’s 4th July speech and also watch the celebration fireworks at Mount Rushmore on Friday 3 July.

Her test was done as part of the routine but the mandatory screening was done of anyone who is to meet the president within a close range. And her report turned out to be positive.

Does Kimberly have any symptoms?

Luckily, Kimberly, 51 did not fly with the President on Air Force One. Once Kimberly knew that her report is positive, she has immediately taken all precautions and self-isolated herself.

Kimberly has no symptoms as of now but is under close observation.

She is one of the main fundraisers for Donald Trump‘s reelection campaign. Prior to her,  President’s personal valet and the US vice president’s press secretary also had tested positive for the virus.

Sergio Gor, chief of staff to the Trump campaign’s finance committee released a statement on her which read:

“She’s doing well, and will be retested to ensure the diagnosis is correct since she’s asymptomatic.”

The statement continued:

“As a precaution (she) will cancel all upcoming events. Donald Trump Jr was tested negative, but as a precaution is also self-isolating and is canceling all public events.”

The spread of coronavirus in the USA

The pandemic has caused the loss of several lives in the USA. 2.8 million afflictions and 130000 deaths have occurred. There has been a resurgence, especially in the southern and western parts of the country.

Donald Trump has been accused of improper handling of the pandemic. Critics blame him for focusing on the economy rather than on saving lives.

Additionally, he has not worn face masks mandatory and he himself refuses to wear one. He also has made many unscientific controversial statements in public. For example, earlier he had said that hydroxychloroquine is good for coronavirus whilst studies have shown the contrary.

In his Mount Rushmore speech, he did not talk about the coronavirus pandemic and the resurgence of cases. He concentrated more on speaking about the left-wing cultural revolution. People were not happy with his no mention of the raging coronavirus pandemic in his speech.
