Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović is a Croatian politician and diplomat. She serves as the 4th and current President of Croatia.

Kitarović was born in Rijeka, Croatia on April 29, 1968, to parents Dubravka(mother) and Branko Grabar(father). Her birth name is Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

Throughout most of her childhood years, she grew up in her parents’ village of Lopača. Her family owned a butcher shop and a ranch. The world of politics always intrigued her as a child. She is of Croatian nationality. Furthermore, she belongs to Croatian ethnic background.

Talking about her education, Kitarović entered a student exchange program. Additionally, she graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1986.

Kitarović won 37.2% of the vote in the 2014–15 Croatian presidential election’s first round. Next, she won 50.7% of the vote on 11 January 2015. She then became Croatia’s first female post-independence head of state.

Kitarović expressed her support for the Life Partnership Act. Additionally, she has spoken in support of green initiatives along with the dangers of climate change. In addition, she is in favor of abortion rights.
