Kristen Kish is celebrating her Top Chef win.

The cook told Page Six that after she was named the new host of the long-running cooking competition show Top Chef, she celebrated the moment by getting herself a tattoo of a gummy bear.

She told the outlet,

“There is a big story behind that,”
“But I’ll tell you at a later time. It has something to do with ‘Top Chef.’”

Kish appeared on the 10th season of the hit Bravo culinary series in 2012 and is all set to replace veteran host Padma Lakshmi who was on the show for 17 long years.

Kish was listed in this year’s Time list as “a gay Korean adoptee who grew up in Michigan, [who] represents the next wave of celebrity chefs.” Many think she is a worthy successor to Lakshmi.

She told the outlet,

”I am baffled, shocked and surprised this is nothing that I have ever expected in my life,”
“Everything that has happened in the recent years has completely caught me off guard in a really good way. But I am thrilled to be here because I already recognize a lot of people.”

The Time 100 Next list also includes Rachel Zegler, Maya Hawke, Jalen Hurts, Alex Newell, Corey Hawkins, and others.

Talking about her new role, Kish nervously said,

“I have severe social anxiety and I’m on television, which is wild,”
“I know I’m a walking contradiction.”

Along with her fans, she also got the support of Padma Lakshmi who sent her best wishes for the upcoming season 21, which will debut in 2024.

Fans of the show were delighted for Kish and thought she was going to be the best fit for the show. One wrote,
