Lala Kent or Lauryn Kent was with her boyfriend in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for her 28th birthday celebration. They were enjoying themselves oblivious to the fact that Randall was going to propose to her.

The Hollywood producer popped the question with an enormous rock worth $150k. Randall had put up a screen for her and played her favorite show Friends.

He then put on a video montage of all their good times together. At the end of the video, he proposed to her with the custom-made engagement ring. There was a private fireworks display after that.

About the special engagement ring

The ring was designed by celebrity jeweler Richie Rich (@richierichny) from Leon Diamond in N.Y.C. He has worked for Adam Levine and Ansel Elgort. Randall went straight to him to commission the ring’s design.

Rich said to People:

“When it was time to design a ring, he contacted me and flew out to New York a few times and once the ring was done, he had me deliver the ring to him in L.A.”

The two had a close collaboration in designing the masterpiece for his bride-to-be. Rich told the outlet:

“He wanted it plain, simple, clean and classy because that’s the type of lady that she is. He didn’t want to go overboard with side stones, he wanted it clean and simple.”

It is a 6-carat diamond ring and Rich has put up a video of the ring on his Instagram where he displays all the sides and angles of the ring.

It is a round-cut diamond with a circular ring of diamonds around the edge and even more diamonds along with the band. The band is 18-carat white gold.

Lala Kent texted Rich thanking him for the stunning piece. She said to People:

“I keep looking down at my ring finger. I’m just so happy to say we are officially engaged. We are so excited to start planning the rest of our lives together and I’m excited to put as much detail as Randall did in our engagement into our wedding!”

About the couple’s relationship

The couple has been dating for many years but had kept their affair under wraps. It was only at the end of 2017 and early 2018 that they went public with their romance.

She was seen looking at some rings in July this year and when asked about engagement and marriage, she laughingly evaded it. She had said that Randall had asked for her late father’s permission to marry her.

Lala said:

“I believe my father was definitely with us last night in spirit, which makes me even happier and our parents are thrilled!”

Her father passed away in April 2018 and she put up a tribute for him on her social media.
