Who is Lil Peep?

Lil Peep was a singer, rapper, and songwriter from the United States best known for his debut studio album, Come Over When You’re Sober.

He was considered as one of the forefathers of the post-emo revival rock and hip-hop sound. He was a member of the emo rap group GothBoiClique.

Many people were aware of and enjoyed his unreleased tunes. Posthumous hits included ‘Awful Things,’ ‘Spotlight,’ ‘Dreams & Nightmares,’ ‘4 Gold Chains,’ and ‘Falling Down,’ which Columbia Records eventually purchased.

Lil Peep: Parents, Age, Siblings, Death

Gustav Elijah Ahr, better known as Lil Peep, was born on November 1, 1996 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is of both American and Swedish nationality, and he is of Caucasian ethnicity.

He died on November 15, 2017, at the age of 21, in Tuscon, Arizona, after a Fentanyl-Xanax overdose.

Lil Peep was born to a teacher’s mother, Liza Womack, and a college professor’s father, Karl Johan Ahr.He also has an elder sibling.

Gustav’s parents’ education, on the other hand, did not guarantee him a regular existence. His parents split when he was a teenager, which had a terrible influence on his mind. He relocated to Los Angeles at the age of 17 to follow his dreams.

In Los Angeles,  Gustav performed under the alias Lil Peep, influenced by underground musicians such as the Seshhollowwaterboyz group and rapper iLoveMakonnen. Within a few months of arriving in Los Angeles, he ran out of funds and spent a few nights without a roof over his head.

Things improved once he made contact with a music producer named JGRXXN and a couple of rappers named Ghostemane and Craig Xen and later he joined the collective known as ‘Schemaposse.’

Lil Peep released his debut mixtape, ‘Lil Peep Part One,’ on ‘SoundCloud’ in 2015, with the help of his new crew. He followed up his debut mixtape with an EP called ‘Feelz’ and another mixtape called ‘Live Forever.’

Over time, ‘Star Shopping,’ a tune from his debut mixtape, became a significant success. It was also a surprise success in underground hip-hop circles. However, he earned true mainstream popularity with the publication of his hit ‘Beamer Boy.’ The song’s enormous success prompted him to do his debut concert with his band ‘Schemaposse’ in Tucson, Arizona.

Lil Peep went on to form another rap group called ‘Gothboiclique.’ In mid-2016, he released his debut full-length mixtape, ‘Crybaby,’ with them. With the release of another mixtape, ‘Hellboy,’ he gained further notoriety.

His tracks have received millions of “views” and “hits” on YouTube and SoundCloud. Two songs from ‘Hellboy,’ titled ‘OMFG’ and ‘Girls,’ were huge hits.

Lil Peep released his debut album, ‘Come Over When You’re Sober,’ in 2017. The album debuted at number 168 on the ‘Billboard 200’ chart and peaked at number 38. Lil Peep announced a promotional tour for the record, but tragedy happened during the tour, and he died.

Lil Peep has a slim build. He had a slim build and appeared to be quite attractive, handsome, and cool. He stands at a height of 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighed 74 kilos. Looking back, his hair was pink, and he liked to dye it different colors, and his eyes were dark brown.

He loved tattoos and had one on the right side of his brow, just below the hairline. He also revealed his bodily measurements of 38-32-14 inches (chest, waist, and biceps).

In terms of speculations and controversies, Lil Peep has been accused of stealing songs from the band Mineral. Furthermore, following his death, his mother sued his manager for his death.

Aside from that, he was making headlines for his death. Gustav Elijah Ahr died on November 15, 2017, barely two weeks after his 21st birthday, at the age of 21.

According to a source, the rapper died as a result of accidental fentanyl and Xanax overdose. When his manager went to check on him, he was discovered dead on his tour bus. He was on a musical tour in Tucson, Arizona.
