Marc Jacobs jokes about his husband’s clothes-folding abilities

Marc Jacobs loves roasting his husband, it seems.

The fashion designer is clearly not a fan of his Lit by Char founder husband Char Defrancesco‘s closet-tidying skills.

While appearing at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards earlier this week, the fashion star, 60, said,

“He’s not a great folder,”
“He has a lot of talent in other areas; folding is not one of them.”

Char even tried to win his husband’s heart by purchasing a folding board but Jacobs said that he failed miserably at it.

“He was trying to impress me by showing me that he was making an effort to fold,”
“I think the folding board and the idea of folding suffered a very immediate death.”

Marc revealed that he is an excellent folder, thanks to the skills he learned while working at clothing stores as a teen. Defrancesco claimed that his husband is quick.

The famous fashion designer then corrected him, saying,

“It’s not about speed, it’s about tidiness,”
“Folding is about making everything fit neatly into a designated shape.”

Jacobs noted that badly folded clothes are “not my worst nightmare but it is among my recurring nightmares.”

Despite being one of the most famous designers in the world, he said that he still hangs and folds his clothes.

Jacobs said,

“It’s very important to me,”
“I really believe it’s very important to take care of beautiful things; that’s what I was taught when I was brought up, and I like it. I find that it’s very important to me.”

Jacobs and Defrancesco tied the knot at the start of April 2019. Their wedding came just a year after the CFDA Award winner popped the question to his then-beau with a flash mob at Chipotle.

After their couple exchanged vows in front of their friends, Marc posted a photo of his gold ring and Art Deco Diamond and Onyx Penguins cufflinks, a gift from Fabio Zambernardi, the design director for the Prada and Miu Mui brands, saying: “God is in the details.”

The fashion superstar added,

“Penguins have only one partner and mate for life. A great example of faithfulness and fidelity.”

Many A-listers like Anna Wintour, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, etc attended the bash.
