In 2009, he graduated from Whitney Young High School and was ranked as the 60th-best  shooting guard in the country as a high school senior by ESPNU with an average, of 10.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

During his freshman year at the University of Central Florida, UCF already had the final year of a five-year contract with Adidas.

In his true freshman year in 2009-10, he made 8.0 points per game including 1152 scored points in his college career.

From 2010 to 2011, in the opening game, Jordan took UCF to victory over the University of West Florida, on November 12, 2010. On December 1, 2010, he scored a team-high 18 points.

Afterward, Marcus Jordan left the UCF basketball team in August 2012, following the path of his brother, Jeffrey, who also exited the team in January of the following year.
