Matt Ulrich is no longer alive among us! The former Indianapolis Colts star died on Wednesday, November 8, at the age of 41.

However, the cause of his death hasn’t yet been revealed.

His death was confirmed by his team owner, Jim Irsay on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a heartbreaking statement.

“I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Matt Ulrich, Matt was with us only two seasons, but left his mark on many. Great guy, I hear he was a great dad — and he was a Super Bowl champ. My prayers to his family.”

Matt is survived by his wife, Alison Ulrich, and their four sons, Gunther, Dalton, Bowden, and Thoreau.

Trai Essex, one of his college teammates from Northwestern, also mourns the loss of the former NFL player on X. He tweeted,

“My heart is broken, My lineman brother. My NU brother. One of the best hearts you could ever hope to be around. Helped me to become the player I became. RIP Chesty.”

Friends and Family launched the GiveSend Go fundraiser for Matt Ulrich to support his widow and children. The campaign has collected over $30,000 as of now. Its bio reads,

Tom McMakin, the CEO of Profitable Ideas Exchange, where Ulrich had worked before his death has donated $20,000. McMakin left a comment next to the donation page, writing,

“Matt we will miss you so much. You had the biggest heart. Love to Ali and the boys,”

Matt Ulrich, full name Matthew James Ulrich, was an American professional football player. He played as an offensive guard for the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL.

During his college life, he played for the Northwestern Wildcats. In 2005, he signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent.

He played for two seasons in the 2007 Super Bowl and retired from the NFL that year.

After the retirement, she settled with his family in Boseman, Mont. He then co-founded DexaFit along with former Northwestern teammate Adam Kadela in 2011.
