Mauricio Umansky gave an update on his marriage life with Kyle Richards in the midst of rumors of their separation.

In a recent appearance on The Agency’s Red Mic podcast, the real estate agent, 53, urged that he and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress are still working to save their marriage. He told,

“We were dealing with our own things, kind of, super quietly and internally, just our own issues, I mean, certainly, we’re not separated. We’re not divorced at this point. We are not any of that stuff. We’re still dealing with our marriage.”

Mauricio then went on to say that he’s grateful they’ve gone nearly three decades without having marital problems.

“It’s been an amazing 26 years and it’s been a difficult one year, Kyle and I are blessed, where we actually had 26 years that we did not have a bad year, and I know most marriages have bad months, bad weeks, bad years.”

In early July, the news first started circulating that Kyle and Mauricio are allegedly split after more than two decades of togetherness. A source confirmed to PEOPLE,

“Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof. They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family.”

Hours later, the couple denied divorce rumors but admitted to having had a “rough year.” They shared a joint Instagram post with a lengthy statement that reads,

“In regards to the news that came out about us today…any claims regarding divorcing are untrue, However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously.”

“There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”

The pair have since been gone for a family trip to Italy in August. Sophia Umansky shared a family photo of their vacation featuring both her parents.

Similarly, Richards hinted that she and Umansky are still on friendly terms after returning from a family vacation in Italy.

She replied to one of the questions during an Amazon Live session with fans,

“That’s a very loaded question, You know this has been very hard to do [because] it’s playing out with so many people having eyes on us and [with us] being in the public eye”

The reality star, however, chose not to elaborate, saying that it was “just too much to deal with right now” and concludes with the statement,

“Obviously we care about each other a lot,”
