Meghan Markle wants to keep her kids away from social media
Meghan Markle, like most of the parents, is scared of letting her kids use social media.
The Duchess of Sussex candidly revealed to a New York audience that she doesn’t like the prospect of her two kids, Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2, to be on social media in the future.
Meghan who appeared on a panel as part of World Mental Health Day celebrations in Manhattan alongside her husband, Prince Harry showed concern for the families who lost their kids because of the negative sides of the internet.
Meghan,42, and Harry, 39, expressed their fears about being responsible for two young minds in this day and age of social media.
The former Suits actress started,
“As parents, though our kids are really young, they’re two and a half and four and a half… but social media is not going away,”
She added,
“I think by design, there was an entry point that was supposed to be positive in creating community and something has devolved, and there’s no way to hear that and not try to help these families have their stories be heard.”
Meghan Markle discussed motherhood during the event
Somewhere during her speech, the Duchess also gushed over her motherhood saying that it is the “most important thing in her life outside of being a wife.”
She added,
“Being a mom is the most important thing in my entire life — outside, of course, being a wife to this one,”
“But I will say, I feel fortunate that our children are at an age, again, quite young, so this isn’t in our immediate future, but I also feel frightened by how it’s continuing to change,”
The former actress admitted,
“And this will be in front of us. As they say, ‘Being a parent, the days are long but the years are short.’ So it worries me,”
“But I’m also given a lot of hope and a lot of energy by the progress we’ve made in the last year.”
Harry and Meghan did have their official Instagram account which once had 11 million followers which was abandoned back in 2020.
This is the couple’s first visit to New York since their near-catastrophic car chase in the city in May.
