‘Meet the Peetes’

Actress Holly Robinson Peete is one of the well-known names in the community being among the brave women we can find. Besides being in many tv shows and movies, she is also the star of the brand new reality show “Meet the Peetes”, the show which shows the lifestyle of the Peete family.

This show stars- Holly with her footballer husband Rodney Peete and with them are their four children- Ryan, Rodney Jr. (RJ), Robinson, and Roman.

This program which premiered on the 18th of February 2018 kicked off with the family celebrating the twins- RJ and Robinson’s 20th birthday. But managing a celebration can be a little hectic or can we say more than a ‘little’ hectic.

Autism diagnosed at the age of 3

RJ, the second child with a twin brother was known to have autism when he was just three years of age. We being social human beings, this disorder prevents you from socializing in one’s life in some way which sometimes leaves a huge impact on one’s life or even family.

But RJ and his family are brave to handle his situation and live the great life that they are now living.

When mom Holly got to know about her son’s condition, she was ready to leave her husband and mom if no treatment was done to her son. She once said in an interview in 2007:

“I was going to leave my husband and divorce my mom.”
“I knew we had to roll up our sleeves and not go into denial. With autism, early intervention is important. We had to get those therapies going.”

From being a mom of an autistic child to co-founding the HollyRod Foundation dedicated to the people with this disease, Holly, and her family has seen many ups and downs in life.

But as we say Autism or Parkinson’s disease is not a problem just another disease that requires the treatment of being in a friendly environment of people. And RJ says the same. Of course, he might have had difficulties growing up and may sometimes have had hard times but he is too strong to give up.

With his parents being a part of a foundation helping people like him, he also encourages people in all the way he can. He is seen wearing a t-shirt in a Holly’s posted picture which says:

“I got 99 problems but my Autism ain’t one!”

Not only was the quote in the t-shirt great but also the caption was written by Holly read:
