Former Monsta X member Wonho to launch solo career! Know about accusations made on him
  • Monsta X is a Korean boy band that debuted on 14th May 2015 with their first EP Trespass. 
  • Wonho was one of the members of the boyband who left the group.

Solo career of Wonho

After departing from his boyband Monsta X in March 2020, Wonho has launched his solo career. He has signed with Highline Entertainment on 10th April 2020 as a solo artist and producer.

Wonho said,

“I am deeply reflecting on my foolish and thoughtless behavior from my past,”

He added,

“I am very thankful to the fans who have given me this opportunity, and I will do my best to repay the support you have given me.”

His former company Starship Entertainment announced it will continue to help support Wonho and Highline is a subsidiary associated with Starship.

Highline revealed,

“We will provide our full support to Wonho to newly restart his career as a solo artist,”

More to launching a solo career, he has opened up new social media accounts on Instagram and Twitter.

Accusations

Back in October 2019, Wonho was accused of stealing, drugs, and debt by fellow bandmate Shownu by former idol trainee Han Seo Hee and television personality Jung Da Eun.

Similarly, his former roommate Jung accused him of owing her money, stealing her items, and selling them. Not just that Han even alleged him of being in juvenile detention as a teenager.

Jung also accused him of smoking marijuana with her in 2013. After all the accusations came out his management agency decided to part ways with him. Wonho wrote a  letter to his fans and apologized to his band members.

He wrote,

“I was immature and have made big and small mistakes, but after becoming a trainee and making my debut, I stayed on track and worked hard to avoid being ashamed of myself.”

On 14th Mar h, he was cleared of all the charges by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency after an investigation was launched against him last year following a series of allegations made against him including illegal drug use.

Similarly, Starship claimed that Wonho cooperated with the investigation and he is free from all the allegations.

More about Wonho

Wonho was born Shin Ho Seok on 1st March 1993 in Anyang, South Korea. In the boy band Monsta X, he was a vocalist, dancer, and visual of the group. He has a younger brother.

Shin previously appeared in a TV show Ulzzang Shidae on the third season which aired from 2011 to 2011. He participated in the TV program No Mercy and made a debut on Monsta X.

Likewise, he was one of the 5th trainees of the boy band. Seok revealed that his mother is his role model. At present, he is not a member of the Korean boyband Monsta X.
