Who is Nancy Salzman and where is she now? What did Nancy and the members of NXIVM do that resulted in arrest?

Nancy Salzman is a psychiatric nurse and practitioner of hypnotic therapies. Nancy is the co-founder of NXIVM, a self-described American multi-level marketing company based in Albany, New York.

The company was founded by Keith Raniere. NXIVM used to allegedly brainwash and blackmail women into sex slaves.

Their organization was a front for a sex cult that branded numerous female members with Raniere’s initials and coerced them into “master-slave” relationships.

In March 2018, Nancy was arrested for racketeering, a charge against herself, and five other leaders in the NXIVM operation. Her charges were identity theft and altering records to influence the outcome of a lawsuit against the organization.

Nancy used to track and monitor the usernames and passwords of suspected moles in the group to ensure they weren’t leaking details about the group’s inner workings.

Salzman said,

“I want you to know I am pleading guilty because I am, in fact, guilty. I accept that some of the things I did were not just wrong, but sometimes criminal.”

How did Nancy Salzman get into NXIVM?

Nancy Salzman met Keith Raniere when she came in to meet his then-girlfriend Toni Natalie about her constipation issue.

Natalie was selling vitamins and supplements wholesale at the time with another woman who was married to Nancy’s ex-husband.

Toni wrote the book The Program: Inside the Mind of Keith Raniere and the Rise and Fall of Nxivm where she has stated,

“Nancy was having problems with her digestive system, Sandy said, and wanted to come in and discuss it with me. If Nancy Salzman were more regular in her bowel movements, Nxivm might have never happened.”

Natalie was impressed with Salzman from the starting and she discussed her problem with Raniere soon after. Due to the problem-sharing incident, Nancy met Keith and NXIVM was started in 1998.

After the charges were put on the NXIVM members, U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis asked lawyers to sentence Keith in person at a federal court in Brooklyn.

Several victims came forward claiming Keith Raniere sexually abused them, branded his sigil on them with a pen, and extorted money from them.

Nancy’s home was raided before her arrest. During her plea in court, she apologized for the trouble caused and said,

“I justified them by saying that what we were doing was for the greater good,”

Nancy’s sentencing is in wait as it has been pushed back many times. She is at her home with her daughter in New York while she awaits sentencing.

It is said that she could face up to forty-one months in jail and a $250,o00 fine. Likewise, she is on a curfew which she asked to be lifted, and cannot have contact with anyone in NXIVM.

The court denied her request of lifting her curfew and remove her ankle bracelet but allowed her to contact one person from NXIVM who is her daughter Lauren. A show named The Vow premiered on HBO which is about this case of NXIVM.

Who is Nancy Salzman’s daughter?

Nancy Salzman has a daughter named Lauren Salzman. She is also one of the members of NXIVM. Lauren was one of the members of the five women who were arrested in 2018 in Mexico along with Keith Raniere. She was arrested on racketeering charges and was pled guilty to charges of racketeering and racketeering conspiracy in 2019.

She was said to face 20  years of prison but her sentence might be cut down because she became a key witness for the prosecution in the trial against Keith. During her trial, Salzman revealed some horrifying details about what the cult did and how Keith had a hold over her for all those years.

Lauren first met the founder of NXIVM Keith Raniere in 1998 when she was 21. They had a secret relationship for eight years. They had an inner circle known as DOS and Lauren was a master who recruited slaves. It is known that at a point Lauren had 22 people reporting directly to her.

Lauren revealed that she helped Keith keep a woman of Mexican nationality confined to a room for the “ethical breach” of falling in love with another man. The women lasted for 18 to 24 months in the room. She was locked from March 2010 to April 2012. Salzman was very loyal to Raniere despite him being disloyal to her.
