- They were wedded by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Alan Greenspan proposed girlfriend Andrea Mitchell on Christmas
Mitchell and Greenspan had been friends for 12 years before Greenspan proposed to her on Christmas. In an interview with The New York Times, Mitchell revealed how the whole thing happened.
She said:
“It was rational exuberance. I was completely surprised because we’d never really talked about it. We’re very comfortable and very happy.”
It wasn’t the first marriage for both Andrea and Alan
Andrea has been enjoying a blissful married life with Alan Greenspan for a couple of decades. It was not always the case with her.
For the first time in 1970, she was married to Gil Jackson. He worked for a well-known company named ‘GlaxoSmithKline(GSK)’. Jackson was also an independent film producer.
The rocky relationship came to an end after five years. According to her neighbors, Jackson verbally abused Andrea. She tries to keep the details of the relationship as quiet as possible.
Mitchell has not disclosed much about her first marriage in her memoir also. Shortly after the divorce, Jackson died in a battle with multiple sclerosis.
Jackson has two children from her previous marriage, who stayed with them while they were together. There are no details regarding the placements of her kids now. After the split, Andrea Mitchell remained single until meeting her ideal man i.e. Alan.
Not only for the NBC News journalist, but it’s the second marriage for Alan also. He shared a marital relationship with Canadian artist Joan Mitchell for less than a year in 1952.
It has been a life-changing decision for both Andrea and Alan.

Rumors of divorce
There are rumors that claim that Ashkenazi Jewish’s relationship with her husband Greenspan is on edge because Mitchell wants to have children. But there is no evidence or proof regarding this matter.
This ultimately makes this rumor baseless. We think that a child’s issue wouldn’t cause any problem for the pair because they don’t seem like they want one.
