NeNe Leakes said she thinks an open marriage would be better after the death of her husband.
NeNe recalled not knowing who to put down following her husband’s 2021 death.
The former Bravolebrity quickly moved on to ex-boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh in December 2021.

NeNe Leakes hints at open marriage after losing her husband

NeNe Leakes said that it would be an open marriage for her if she ever decided to marry again in the future.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, who lost her husband, Gregg Leakes two years ago, took to her YouTube series, Pillow Talk with NeNe. On the show which came out on Monday, NeNe got emotional and touched down on the topic of being with someone even if they did not love each other.

The 55-year-old told her audience,

“Maybe I should just marry whether I’m 100% happy with the person or not,”
“Maybe I should marry just so that I have a partner — a partner for life.”

The reality star also honestly said that while the new person might not be right for her, she at least will have someone.

“Maybe we will have an agreement that this person would be there for me and I would be there for them [during] hard times or medical times.”

Leakes also explained certain terms like, “He will see whoever he wants to see. I will see whoever I want to see.”

NeNe continued,

“But doing that, you have to know that person will probably be talking to other people and loving other people and they’re just with you through the hard times,”

Despite giving her thoughts on open marriage, the TV star noted that it wasn’t right for her.

NeNe said,

“I considered it but I know that it’s not who I am as a person. I really would want to be with somebody that really loves me and really… wanted to be there for me.”

NeNe’s new romance after her husband’s death brought her more pain

Leakes’s emotional turbulence came after she visited a doctor and realized that didn’t have anybody to put down as an emergency contact.

She said emotionally,

“I got really emotional in the office. It came out of nowhere,”
“In the past, I listed my husband as my emergency.”

Gregg passed away in September 2021 from colon cancer. He was 66.

The realtor was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer in 2018 after which he underwent six sessions of chemotherapy before going into remission for a couple of years.

Unfortunately, in 2021, his disease returned.

NeNe and Gregg initially tied the knot in 1997 but called it quits in 2011. They remarried in 2013.

They share a 24-year-old son named Brentt.

A few months after her husband’s death, NeNe moved on with her boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh in December 2021. The couple first hinted at their romance when they were spotted together at the reality star’s birthday party.

Nyonisela’s ex-wife, Malomine Tehmeh-Sioh alleged that NeNe broke their marriage. She sued the reality star for “emotional distress” and “humiliation” for breaking up a “happy marital relationship” and actively “sexual relationship,”
