Most of their family members and close friends attended their wedding in Paris.
But their two-year-old son, Matteo was not present on their big day.

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev celebrated their wedding in front of their family and close friends in a romantic ceremony in Paris.

But the most important person in their lives, their 2-year-old son Matteo was noticeably missing from their nuptials in August 2022. Despite being all set to be his parents’ ring bearer, he could not make it to the wedding.

But the loving parents had to make the hard decision for a totally understandable reason for their baby’s absence.

Bella said,

The 39-year-old revealed that she and her now-husband had no idea about the situation until they were standing at the altar.

The Total Bellas alum recalled,

“‘The Nutcracker’ plays, and we’re like looking down the aisle, and I’m like, ‘Where is he?’”

Her brother, JJ Garcia was there to assist and told her,

‘Here’s the rings. Matteo’s vomiting. Just, you know, continue to get married.’”

The WWE star remembered instantly turning white.

She said,

“We both don’t even remember the ring part because we both kept looking at each other like, ‘Are we terrible parents? Like, putting our rings on, and we were just told our son is vomiting in the back?’”

Bella was once engaged to WWE superstar John Cena

The former wrestler revealed that someone took the baby back to the hotel room and he felt better after some time. But the couple regrets not being able to have that special moment with him.

Her dancer husband joked that their baby boy must have gotten too excited about his duty as a ring bearer.

The reality star also mentioned that she and the Dancing With the Stars star were able to plan their wedding in just four weeks. She, however, does not suggest that decision because they had to face lots of problems on the way.

She recalled,

“For me, when things didn’t work out, I was just like, ‘Whatever, you know, whatever does [happen] is meant to be,’ and it kind of made it more magical,”

The couple first met while both were contestants on Season 25 of DWTS in 2017. At the time, Nikki was engaged to John Cena.

Soon after calling off her engagement to the WWE Superstar in April 2018, she started dating the dancing star.

In early 2019, the duo confirmed their romance and Artem popped the question by the end of the year.

Then in August 2020, the couple welcomed their son Matteo.
