Gerard Pique and Shakira are no more together

Spanish footballer Gerard Pique and Columbian pop star Shakira have decided to end their long relationship. The couple has two children Milan, born in 2013, and Sasha, born in 2015.

The family lived in Spain since then.

Addressing the rumors of her breakup, the 45-year-old Whenever Wherever singer posted:

“We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we request respect for (our) privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

The media had already started speculating something between them but the couple only made it official the next year.

Their breakup was widely speculated for a long time

The breakup was much speculated when fans started noticing something wasn’t right between the pair.

In April, The Hips Don’t Lie, singer, released Te Felicito alongside Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro where the lyrics pointed toward the rough patch her relationship was going through.

The lyrics went:

During a podcast, the mother of two shared how the couple had different opinions on things. She also said that she and her poor husband/boyfriend/baby daddy sometimes disagree about the timeliness due to their different upbringings.

It was also reported that Shakira has been residing separately with her sons after breaking up with Pique.
