Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa’s marriage is officially over

Lisa Bonet has officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband Jason Momoa.

The filing comes almost two years after the couple announced their breakup.

The Cosby Show alum asks for joint physical and legal custody of their two teenage kids: Lola, 16, and Nakoa-Wolf, 15, as per the court documents.

In the documents, Bonet listed their separation date as October 7, 2020, nearly a year and a half before the two announced they went separate ways.

The then-lovebirds started dating in 2005 and tied the knot more than a decade later in October 2017.

In January 2022, the stars announced they were going through a transformational time in their lives.

Bonet and Momoa wrote in their joint Instagram post,

“A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring,”
“And so We share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”

The Aquaman actor, 44, and the Angel Heart actress, 56, assured their fans that the split would not decrease their love by any chance.

They wrote,

“The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become,”

They concluded their message by saying that their main priority was co-parenting their two kids together.

How did Momoa react to reconciliation rumors with Bonet?

There were reconciliation rumors after some time. However, the Dune star confirmed that it was false and they were not back together during an interview with Access Hollywood in March 2022.

Jason told the outlet,

“We’re not back together. We’re family. … We have two beautiful children together,”
“We’re not getting back together. We’re family forever,” he reiterated.
