It’s a Boy! Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Welcome Their Second Child; Find Out His Name!

Princess Eugenie gives birth to her second son
Princess Eugenie is a mom again!
Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson‘s youngest daughter welcomed a son with her husband Jack Brooksbank last week.
It’s a second baby boy for the royal and her husband who are already parents to August Philip Hawke, 2.
The Palace’s official statement read,
“Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. Ernest was born on Tuesday, 30th May, and weighed 7lbs 1oz,”
Eugenie herself later shared the news with her followers on Instagram on Monday with an adorable picture of her newborn. She also revealed his name.
King Charles‘ niece wrote alongside the snap,
“Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs,”
“He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald. Augie is loving being a big brother already.”
The sweet photo showed the baby snuggled up in a light blue knit hat. Another shot showed August gently caressing his baby brother’s tiny head.
As royal names are often odes to their ancestors, Ernest’s middle name is a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather King George V, Brooksbank’s father George, and Eugenie’s maternal grandfather Ronald.
The new member of the royal family happens to be 13th in line to the British Throne, right after his big brother, August.
Ernest is also the first great-grandchild of the late Queen to be born after her death in September last year. He is the third grandchild of the Duke and Duchess of York.
Andrew and Sarah who got divorced in 1996 just after a decade of marriage still remain good friends. They are already grandparents to Eugenie’s son August and Princess Beatrice‘s daughter Sienna Elizabeth, 1, who she shares with her Italian husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Beatrice is also stepmom to Mozzi’s first child, Christopher Woolf, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Dara Huang.

Eugenie revealed her pregnancy in January
In an interview with People not so long ago, Duchess Sarah revealed that she loves everything about being a grandmother.
While talking to the publication about her latest fictional novel A Most Intriguing Lady, Sarah said,
“One, I’m really proud of my girls. Two, I have very good grandchildren,”
Sarah, who is famously known by her nickname Fergie, added,
“They just follow me around like Peter Pan. I’m ‘Super Gran Pan.’ Whenever they see me, they laugh. They think I’m very funny. August is teaching me about trains. My girls had Barbie dolls,”
It was in January that Buckingham Palace announced that Eugenie was expecting her second baby.
The announcement read,
“Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer,”
“The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother.”
The 33-year-old princess also shared the news in a modern way. She shared a snap of her firstborn kissing her belly as he wrapped his arms around her leg.
She captioned the adorable photo which was taken by her husband, Jack, 37,
“We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,”
