Raúl Ruidíaz was born Raúl Mario Ruidíaz Misitich on 25 July 1990, in Villa María del Triunfo, Peru. Moreover, his Zodiac sign is Leo.

His parents are father, Raul Ruidiaz Chuica and mother Tatiana Misitich. Mr. Chuica is Peruvian and Mrs. Misitich-Chuica is Croatian.

  • Club Career

  1. Universitario 

    Ruidiaz took his first steps in club football at Primera Division club Universitario de Deportes at the age of eight.

    In January 2008, he was promoted to the first adult team and immediately loaned to the club, América Cochahuayco. After the arrival, he began to play as a striker.

    On 4 October 2009, he made his professional debut against  Total Chalaco, at the age of 19. In his 66 appearances, Raúl scored 13 goals for the Universitario.

  2.  Universidad de Chile

    On 20 January 2012, Ruidíaz was appointed as a new player for the Primera Division club Universidad de Chile. Despite some early success with his new club, Raul lacked the required fitness.

    On 15 July 2012, Raúl was released from the club Universidad de Chile. Moreover, he scored 8 goals in his 15 club appearances.

  3. Morelia 

    In 2016, Ruidiaz signed for Mexican club Monarcas Morelia in the Liga MX on a season-long loan. On 15 July 2016, Raúl debuted for his club replacing Diego Valdés in a 2–0 away loss to Tijuana. 

    On 1 August 2016, Ruidiaz scored a hat-trick in a 4–2 away win against Santos Laguna.

    In 2017, it was announced Morelia signed Raúl for a permanent three-year transfer. Later in the season, he scored his second hat-trick for Morelia in a 4–0 win over UNAM.

    Surprisingly, he scored 40 goals in 72 matches for Morelia.

  4.  Seattle Sounders

    On 29 June 2018, Raúl signed a contract with MLS side Seattle Sounders F.C. In addition, he set club records for being the fastest to 10 goals in MLS play in just 14 games. 

    On 10 November 2019, Raúl scored Seattle’s final goal in a 3–1 home win over Toronto FC in the MLS Cup Final.

  • International Career

On  7 June 2011, Raúl made his international debut for Peru in a 0-0 draw against Japan in  Niigata in the Kirin Cup. 

In 2016, he was named as a member of Peru’s 23-man squad for the Copa America Centenario. On 12 June 2016, in Peru’s third group match against Brazil, Raul scored a winning goal in the 75th minute.

The goal put Peru up 1–0, sending Peru through to the knockout stage as winners of Group B.
