However, Teresa has not yet filed for divorce from Joe who was recently deported to Italy after spending five months in an ICE detention facility.

After separating from her husband for 20 years, Teresa has not yet disclosed whether she is filing the divorce. One of the insiders explained :

“Teresa and Joe’s marriage is completely over. Teresa is in no rush to file for divorce, but their relationship is done.”

At this moment, Teresa’s main priority is her daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana. She is focusing to be a good mother to her children.

During the hard time surrounding deportation, she wants to be stable for her children. The reality star doesn’t want to break the heart of her children with the news of divorce at this time.

The news of them parting ways hit the internet after she alongside their daughters visited Joe in Italy in November. During her talk on ‘Good Morning America’, she mentioned that it was a good visit. However, this did not favor saving their marriage.

Why are Teresa and Joe ending their marriage?

It’s a hard decision to end the marriage after more than two decades of togetherness. The long distance and lack of free time probably became the reason behind the ending of their long marriage.

One of the inside sources describes the reality star’s reason behind the split stating:

“Teresa made the decision to leave Joe if he were to be deported nearly a year ago. Teresa doesn’t see the point in a long distance relationship, and as the breadwinner for her daughters, she needs to stay in the U.S. where all her financial opportunities are. She feels she has sacrificed more than enough for her marriage and she needs to do what’s best for her family as a whole.”

A permanent US resident Joe went to jail for committing fraud in 2016. Back in March 2019, when he got released into ICE custody, the RHONJ star was mentally preparing herself to end their marriage.

During the reunion of season 9 of RHONJ, the reality star mentioned that she would split with Joe if got deported as the long distance would not work for her.

With the news of their split, sources also confirmed that she is moving on from her marriage with her husband. As this year has been very rocky for the family, she is staying strong for her daughters. The reality star Teresa surrounds herself with the people who support her in her bad times.
