Rita Ora and Taika Waititi are celebrating one year of marriage.

The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary with never-seen photos and details of their special day in 2022.

The British singer, 32, and the Marvel director, 47, said I DO in August last year, and on their first anniversary as a married couple, the duo shared happy memories and a glimpse of their intimate wedding with Vogue on Friday.

The movie director told the publication,

“It wasn’t in London or in France like everyone reported,”

He also noted that it was Ora who popped the question.

He added,

“It was in L.A. with a small group of friends.”

Rita Ora added, “At our home!”

Taika shared with Vogue,

“There were about eight people there — just close friends and family, and parents on Zoom,”
“It was really us and my sister Elena.”

The Thor: Ragnorak director added that his daughters Te Kāinga o te Hinekāhu, 11, and Matewa Kiritapu, 7 also attended their daddy’s big day.

Ora talked about her wedding outfit and plans

The Fifty Shades of Grey actress Rita Ora wore Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Tom Ford lace dress for the nuptials.

Revealing why she chose the designer for her wedding, Ora said,

“Tom Ford is one of my favorite designers of all time and favorite humans in general,”
“He’s now one of my close friends, and I adore and admire him so much. To get married in his dress was a dream come true.”

She also paid a special tribute to her mother by wearing her pearls for the ceremony.

Ora added,

“My sister walked me down the aisle, and it was just really simple and blissful and calm and private and fun.”

Waititi further told the outlet, “Yeah, it was beautiful,”

Rita Ora said that the whole wedding was low-key and that “it was almost like another day. We just all dressed up and got married.”

While most of the newlyweds are busy with their honeymoon right after the wedding, it was something else for Rita.

Just a day after secretly getting married, she rushed to the recording studio where she orchestrated her new music that perfectly captured the essence of their wedding.

She remembers telling producer Cirkut,

“I was like, ‘Listen dude, I got married yesterday. I’m very hungover, but I think we should write the ultimate wedding song,’”

Waititi was also very happy that his new wife shared their love story through the album. Rita continued in the interview,

“I love bouncing ideas with him. It’s really cool and easy, and he’s got really great perspective and taste,”
“With this album and everything, I think it’s just set a really great precedent for what we could potentially do.”
“My biggest supporter and advocate is Taika,”

Rita Ora said that she one day hopes to expand their family and said, “That’s always been a dream of mine.”
