Roger Allan Hedgecock was born on 2nd May 1946 in Compton, California, US.
His family moved to the Loma Portal area of San Diego. His father got ill and was unable to work. Due to this, his family faced tough times.
He worked in various jobs in his youth.
He attended the Roman Catholic-affiliated St. Augustine High School. After that, in 1968 he received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
In 1971, he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Likewise, in 1974 he practiced law and became a city attorney for Del Mar, California.
He was active in politics from an early age as he volunteered to work in US Senator Barry Goldwater’s 1964 presidential campaign.
From 1976 to 1983, he served as the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Likewise, in 1983, he was elected as the Mayor of San Diego.
Radio and TV
After his political career ended, he started working on the talk show on San Diego’s AM 1130 KSDO. His first show aired from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
In November 2007, he hosted a nationally-syndicated radio talk show on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12 noon.
In November 2011, Roger left the local flagship station, KOGO and moved to a new flagship home radio station, AM 760 KFMB.
He was an occasional guest host for The Rush Limbaugh Show. He appeared as a guest in Real Time With Bill Maher.
