In 2004, Ron DeSantis earned his Reserve Naval officer’s commission and appointment to the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) at the U.S. Naval Reserve Center based in Dallas, Texas.

He served as the commander of Joint Task Force-Guantanamo. While serving to SEAL Team One he notified the Naval Special Warfare Command Group located in Coronado, California, and was ordered to work in Iraq.

In April 2008, he came back to the U.S. and was relocated to serve in the Naval Regio Southeast Legal Service. He worked as an assistant U.S. attorney after he was assigned by The U.S. Department of Justice.

Bronze Star Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Navy, Iraq Campaign Medal, and Marine Corps Commendation Medal was awarded to him.
