The supermodel Gigi Hadid reacted and showed her support to innocent civilians of Ukraine to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As the Russian Federation and Ukraine are currently in a state of war. Many celebrities have stepped up, donating financial aid to Ukrainian refugees.

Among them, the 26-years-old supermodel recently vowed to donate her income from all of the fashion week shows she walked in this season to help Ukraine as well as Palestinians.

Palestine is her ancestral home. As her father Mohamed Hadid was born in Palestine before he fled to a Syrian refugee camp as a child.

Gigi Hadid on Russian vs Ukraine War

On Sunday (March 6), Hadid took to Instagram to announce that she also stood up to donate to the UN Refugee Agency, following in the footsteps of her friend Mica Arganaraz.

She shared photos of some of her biggest runway looks from the past month. Then, she remarks that her packed runway schedule makes it difficult to properly give her attention to the strife and pain happening in the Eastern European country.

She wrote,

“Having a set fashion month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history,”

She then continued,

“I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall/Winter 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine.”

Prior to her, her colleague fellow model Mica Arganaraz has started to donate her earrings amid the ongoing crisis amongst her catwalk colleagues. “I will be donating part of my earnings of this fashion week to help Ukrainian organizations,” earlier the same day, she posted an Instagram story.

Similarly, she addressed her other model friend to contribute. Shortly after her post, including Gigi, many others stood up like Bella, Kaia Gerber, Kiki Willems, Vittoria Ceretti, Francesca Summers, Aylah Peterson, and more.
