The new arrival!

American competitive swimmer Ryan Lochte and his fiancée model Kayla Rae Reid became proud parents to a baby boy on 8th June 2017.

The child was born healthy at 5.46 am with a birth weight of 7 lbs and 14 oz and a length of 22 inches. The elated father took to Instagram to express his happiness.

He wrote:

“Never seen a miracle happen before,”

He continued:

“Until this morning at 5:46 am when CAIDEN ZANE LOCHTE was born. 7lbs, 14 oz, 22 inches. Can’t stop crying from tears of joy. Dream come true!”

The couple got engaged in October 2016. In December 2016, they announced that Kayla Rae Reid was expecting their first child. On 2016 May, while talking about his girlfriend Kayla, Ryan Lochte told US Weekly:

“Now that I have someone, it is stability and it is nice. It’s really nice having someone who isn’t all into swimming and doesn’t really know much [about the sport].”

In January 2017, the couple was aware that Kayla is going to give birth to a male child and was considering a unique name for the new arrival. They have named him Caiden Zane Lochte.

Kayla’s stretch mark worries

In April 2017, Kayla Rae Reid opened up about her worries about stretch marks coming up due to her baby bump. She revealed to her fans on Snapchat how she is trying to avoid the marks.

Kayla said:

“I literally apply so much of this stuff and then I let it soak in my skin,”

She was talking about Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter which she uses on her bare bump to prevent the stretch marks from developing.

Kayla posted a video of her applying the butter to her baby bump. She has put the text ‘Praying for no stretch marks’ over the video and also put in a ‘prayer emoji’.

The fatherly duties

In January 2017, Ryan Lochte revealed that the couple knows the sex of their unborn baby. Ryan had said then:

“It’s a boy! [Reid is] doing amazing! She just finished her first trimester and everything. Now she’s starting to get her energy back.”

He was also very excited about the baby kicks. He said:

“When I saw [Reid], like, three days ago … I felt the baby kick and I freaked out,” Lochte said. “I was like, ‘What? This is — oh, my gosh!’ She’s like, ‘Calm down, Ryan.’ I’m like, ‘This is awesome!'”

Ryan Lochte also shared with the public and his fans his thoughts on diaper duty. He is excited about his forthcoming duties. He told US Weekly:

“You know, the funny thing is I’m excited because I have a lot of nieces and nephews. I’ve wanted for six years now to become a dad. So I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ll change the diapers.’ I’m excited to do that.”

Ryan had also added:

“When the baby’s born, we want to locate outside of L.A. to the beach. We both love Orange County. We really love Santa Monica, Venice … so somewhere on the coast,”

The 12-time medalist is also looking forward to his forthcoming wedding to Kayla. He had said:

“We wanna focus on the baby first, and then definitely get into the whole wedding and everything,”

They are planning a wedding in the fall of 2017 in California. Ryan said:

“I want to be a part of, like, every decision. I wanna help pick up the cake — well, especially the cake because I want to eat it all. But [I want to] help pick out the flowers and everything.”

He added:

“I want confetti cake!”
