Sam Trammell and his role in True blood

American actor, Sam Trammell hails from New Orleans, Louisiana. But he grew up in Charleston in West Virginia. He is an alum of Brown University and completed his graduation in 1991.

Sam started his career with Broadway. He did theater, films, and television. His major roles in theater included Ah, Wilderness! that was in Lincoln center. This role gave him a Tony award nomination. Moreover, off Broadway, Sam has acted in Dealer’s Choice, My Night with Reg, Ancestral Voices, and If memory serves.

But Sam’s big role was as Sam Merlotte in True blood series on HBO. It is the story of Sookie Stackhouse (played by Canadian and New Zealand actress, Anna Paquin). She is a telepathic waitress and resides at a fictional village called Bon Temps in Louisiana. The series had a huge ensemble cast. Sam had one of the main roles. He owns a restaurant and bar there and helps Sookie ward off danger several times. Sam has the capacity to transform into any animal but likes to become border collie, his childhood pet.

“It was probably because of Neil Peart, the drummer — one of the most badass drummers ever. I remember going to a Rush concert, and we just sat behind Neil Peart and watched him play drums. I was also in an Ozzy Osbourne cover band, mostly because we had a guitarist who could play Randy Rhoads’s [parts].”

Actor Sam met actress Missy Yager when he was doing theater in New York. They were in the same play and began a relationship. Missy has also acted in Six Feet Under, Mad Men, and Boston Public.

And in August 2011, the couple welcomed twin boys. An insider told Life and Style magazine:

“The couple is very happy that everything went smoothly.”

In an interview given to New York magazine, Sam expressed his fear:

“I’m about to have twins. I’m absolutely terrified, and they’re boys, too. The fear level is pretty high.”
