Former American professional basketball player Scot Pollard was born in Murray, Utah. He was born on 12 February 1975 and named as Scot L. Pollard. His father Pearl Pollard is also a basketball player who played at the University of Utah.  He is of North American ethnicity and has an American nationality. He studied at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California before joining Kamiakin High School in Kennewick, Washington. For his further study, he attended the University of Kansas.

Scot Pollard has been playing basketball since 1997 and he retired in 2008. He started playing basketball professionally after being selected by Detroit Pistons in the 1997 NBA Draft.

He played 1997-1998 season for the Piston and recorded an average of 2.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game. He was traded to Atlanta hawks in exchange for Christian Laettner. He was traded to Sacramento Kings after a month being not suited up in a game for Hawks. He missed several matches due to his injury in 1999 season. Then he was traded to the Indiana Pacers where he recorded an average of 3.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game. On 18 August 2006, he signed a one-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. On 9 August 2007, he signed a one-year contract with the Boston Celtics where he has won the 2008 NBA Championship.  Shortly after playing for team Celtics, he retired from NBA.

Besides his playing journey, he has also hosted a ‘Planet Pollard’ on Comcast SportsNet. On 3 October 2014, it was announced that he would join Indiana Pacers radio crew. He is also an actor who has appeared in horror film ‘Axeman at Cutter’s Creek’ and in ‘Jayhawkers’.
