Selena Gomez praises Francia Raisa in a new interview
It looks like Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa are back on good terms after previously shading one another online a few months ago.
Selena recently gave an interview with Apple TV+’s Dear… where the singer discussed Raisa selflessly donating her kidney in 2017 while she was battling lupus disease.
After finding out she needed a transplant, Gomez recalled,
“My best friend. Her name is Francia. She said ‘No I am absolutely getting tested,’”
“Within three days, she went to [get tested], and she was a match. And it was one of those moments where I felt watched over. I know I was so so so lucky,”
The Only Murders in the Building star continued,
“I will never, ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”
While the longtime friends now seem to have repaired their relationship, fans thought the two were not on talking terms back in November when Gomez called Taylor Swift her only best friend in the industry.
Francia, however, did not feel good about the comment and wrote Interesting under an Insta post that highlighted Gomez’s quote.

Gomez did not mention Raisa in her documentary
The Rare Beauty Founder later dissed the How I Met Your Father actress, writing, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” on a TikTok video.
Fans were confused by the actresses’ apparent fight with some even shading Selena for ghosting the one who saved her life.
One fan wrote,
“I honestly feel like this whole thing was just taken out of proportion and Selena meant the music industry which Francia isn’t part of,
Another fan wrote,
“she might genuinely not thing of Francia as an ‘industry friend’ but more as a sister, that was my first thought!”
A third fan chimed in,
“Francia saved her life! She should’ve at least acknowledged her on the documentary!!!!!”
The stars have had on-and-off friendships over the past few years.
Fans noticed that there was no mention of Raisa in Gomez’s 2022 documentary My Mind and Me. Moreover, Francia even unfollowed the Naturally singer on Instagram after that.
Just months before the documentary came out, Raisa attended Gomez’s lavish 30th birthday party. It made fans wonder what went wrong with the two best friends.
