Morgan was born on 21st December 1978 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He spent most of his early life in South Africa. His parents got divorced when he was very young.

Moran is one of three children. He has a brother, Eugene, and a sister, Lucy. His brother took his life in 2007.

Morgan went to Merchiston Preparatory School and Maritzburg College in Pietermaritzburg. There he became a prolific front-row rugby player for his age group’s top teams in his first three years of high school.

In his third year, he injured his back and was unable to play anymore, which led to him following his passion for playing guitar.

At the age of 14, he discovered the Seattle grunge movement after listening to Nirvana’s Nevermind album, which inspired him to become a musician.

Shaun Morgan: Career/Profession

Morgan is a musician best known as a member of the rock band, Seether. Initially, Morgan started as a member of a tribute band, covering songs by musicians such as Creed and Tom Petty.

Later, Morgan became a member of the band, Saron Gas now known as Seether. Saron Gas was created in May 1999.

The band was originally a four-piece, but when the singer and guitarist did not turn up to the first practice, the band decided to stay as a three-man band, with Moran on lead vocals and guitar.

Saron Gas enjoyed its moderate success before the bass player decided to quit in 2000. Morgan got in touch with the only other good bass player he knew, Dale Steward. The band started to perform again and also released an album later that year, entitled Fragile.

In 2002, the band relocated to the United States to sign with Wind-up Records. At this time, the band drummer returned home to South Africa.

Morgan and Dale decided to rebrand their band name as Seether. Seether went on to release their debut major-label album, Disclaimer, on August 20, 2002.

Since then, Seether has released six more studio albums: Karma and Effect, Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces, Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray, Isolate and Medicate, Poison the Parish, and Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum.

Morgan has been nominated for many awards, but he has only won one award. He won “The National Council’s Artistic Expression Impact Award” in 2016.
