Later, the band Evanescence recorded the longer EP Origin in 2000. Moody left the band citing creative differences on October 22, 2003. After that, ex-Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo replaced Moody in the band as a guitarist and Lee’s writing partner.

In 2006, Lee became the American Chairperson for Out of the Shadows. She made an appearance in the music video for Johnny Cash’s “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” in late 2006.
In June 2008, Lee won the 2008 Songwriter Icon Award by the National Music Publishers Association. Lee won Best Vocalist at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in 2012.
