The famed singer Pixie Lott was to marry her beau Oliver Cheshire this September. But now the viral pandemic has made her hold the wedding function.
She was on this Friday’s episode of the show and told host Lorraine Kelly that after canceling the September 2020 wedding, they thought of holding it in autumn 2020.
But now seeing the way coronavirus is surging and making a comeback, the couple has decided to postpone it indefinitely.
“It’s so tough to make any plans for anyone at the moment, this year was finally the year when we had planned to make it all happen in September, but obviously because of the situation we can’t really book anything yet.”
The singer added:
“We’ve got quite a big family and it’s all restricted at the moment, so I have to wait until the rules relax a bit.”
The current rules pertaining to marriages in the UK
Since the cases of coronavirus in the UK are continuing unabated, the UK government has laid down some new rules related to the wedding functions.
They state that there should not be a gathering of more than 30 people at the wedding. And during the wedding or civil partnership function, all guests including the bride and bridegroom should observe social distancing. They should wear face masks which is mandatory.
And hence considering the strictness and rules for this social event, many couples prefer to wait until the restrictions are completely removed to marry. Therefore, they want to wait until things normalize so that everyone can attend and also enjoy it.
Pixie talks of her post-lockdown change
The singer has been updating her fans on her social media about what she has been doing during the self-isolation at her home.
And now on the show, she told the host that she was desperate for sporting a new look after the lockdown was eased. Hence she rushed to the salon once it opened. She was the first customer at the hair salon.
“Luckily I got in there as soon as I opened. I couldn’t wait because my roots are really bad. And I’ve always wanted to go darker.”
“I did that on Saturday, it’s called the undone blonde. I just bored of it in lockdown. So I thought I’d do something post-lockdown a little bit different.”
The singer had to go to the emergency two times during the lockdown:
“I am a really clumsy person but I haven’t really had to go to A&E much at all, but I had to go twice during lockdown.”
“The first one, I’m not a very good cook. And I thought I’d brave it and microwave some soup. I didn’t realise how piping hot it can get. It got really infected.”
Since 2017, she is a judge on the show The Voice Kids.
