Susan Silver is an American music manager and she is best known for managing Seattle Rock bands such as ‘Soundgarden’, ‘Alice in Chains’, and ‘Screaming Trees’.

She is also the owner of the company Susan Silver Management and co-owns the club ‘The Crocodile’ in Seattle.

Susan was also working as a music manager of a John Fluevog shoe store in Seattle. The store sold Dr. Martins’s boots worn by several members of Grunge bands from Seattle and became famous.

She met music manager Kelly Curtis in 1988 and she started co-managing the band ‘Mother Love Bone later, she managed the band ‘Pearl Jam’ and Silver became the sole manager of Alice in Chains.

Susan Silver made her appearance in the Doug Pray documentary ‘Hype!’ in 1996 and she talked about the Seattle music scene. Her clients in the 90s include the band’s Hater’, ‘Crackerbox’, ‘Sweet Water’, ‘Sponge’, singer Kristen Barry, and producer Terry Date.

She announced her retirement in 1998 from the music business to concentrate on her family. She along with Deborah Semer formed a new company in Seattle, Atmosphere Artist Management and their first client was the music and dance group Children of the Revolution.

After the lead vocalist of Alice in Chains, Layne Staley died of a drug overdose in 2002, the band called Silver and wanted to tour as Alice in Chains again.

She along with David Benveniste and his company Velvet Hammer Management has been co-managing Alice in Chains since 2009. She co-owns the club ‘the Crocodile’ in Seattle along with Alice in Chains’ drummer Sean Kinney since 2009.
