Conor Kennedy is much more than Taylor Swift’s ex-lover
Conor Kennedy is making his country proud.
The son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is doing his bit to help the people of Ukraine by secretly fighting a war there.
The descendant of the Kennedy family is back home safely but he went to the war saying he was willing to die there.
The 28-year-old announced the news on his Instagram account by writing:
“I was deeply moved by what I saw happening in Ukraine over the past year. I wanted to help. When I heard about Ukraine’s International Legion, I knew I was going, and I went to the embassy to enlist the next day.”
The young American told only one native from his homeland that he was going over to fight. Moreover, only one person on the battlefield knew his real identity.
The grandson of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy explained in his social media post:
“I didn’t want my family or friends to worry, and I didn’t want to be treated differently there,”
“Going in, I had no prior military experience and wasn’t a great shot, but I could carry heavy things and learned fast. I was also willing to die there. So they soon agreed to send me to the northeastern front.”
However, Kennedy did not reveal how long he spent fighting in Ukraine.
He posted:
“My time in Ukraine wasn’t long but I saw a lot and I felt a lot,”
“I liked being a soldier, more than I had expected. It is scary. But life is simple, and the rewards for finding courage and doing good are substantial.”

Kennedy urged civilians to provide help to Ukraine
After Russia declared war on Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy set up the International Legion in February asking international citizens to help fight Russia.
A report suggested that 20,000 people from 52 nations signed up within a week to support Ukraine.
Kennedy further emphasized in his post:
”This war will shape the fate of democracy in this century,”
The young man also urged many others to join the International Legion or provide help of any kind.
Asking the public to help on the border, or send medical supplies, he said:
“Every day, someone there sacrifices everything for a lasting peace. They can’t be asked to act alone.”
The scion also praised his fellow fighters and the Ukrainian civilians who are suffering because of Russia.
Kennedy initially made headlines when he started dating Taylor Swift in 2019. He was just 19 at the time. The couple spent time at his family’s property in Cape Cod.
Many believe Swift’s song Begin Again from her hit album Red is about him.
Taylor, now 32, was head over heels for Conor at the time and she even purchased a luxury mansion for $4.9 million in the area.
The Back to December singer also accompanied him to the grave site of his mother, Mary Richardson Kennedy, who committed suicide in 2012.
The hunk is now dating Brazilian singer Giulia Be.
